bzip2 or BZ2 is a free software/open source software data compression algorithm developed by Julian Seward. Seward's program was released in 1996 with version 0.15. The stability and widespread use of the data compressor increased over time and version 1.0 was released in late 2000.bzip2 compresses most files more efficiently but more slowly than traditional methods such as gzip or ZIP. In this respect, it is quite similar to other next-generation compression algorithms. However, in most cases bzip2 does not even come close to the compression efficiency of the 7z and RAR formats. You can find example bzip files on this page.
The JPG file format is a widely used image format for photographs and web graphics. JPG (or JPEG) is named after the Joint Photographic Experts Group, the name of the expert group that created it. This format is ideal for images with lots of color gradations because it offers excellent color depth. It uses lossy compression, which results in a smaller file size, making it suitable for storing and sharing images without any noticeable loss of quality. It is also useful when sharing images quickly over the internet.
